An episode of the variety TV series "Shower of Stars". This episode features Jack Benny, Nanette Fabray, and the Johnnie Ray. Lots of comedy & music. Despite the odd running time, this is indeed complete...(thanks you Spelvin for info on the 5 minutes...oh yeah, and for the record the color version of this telecast is lost)

Subject: What aired in that last 5 minutes
I bet I know exactly what aired, based on the date of this. That's a few days before the elections of 1956, so I guarantee it was a five-minute national political ad, for either Eisenhower or Stevenson.

Wait, what's the matter with me? I have the old TV schedules. Let me check ... be right back.

Yep. At 9:25, it says "Republican Talk." :)

By the way, "Shower of Stars" was in color. Contrary to what most people think, CBS did show some shows in color in the 1950s.
